My Review:

So I really liked this book. Not as much as The Selection or The One but I really enjoyed getting to see how America and Maxon handled life after marriage. I also really enjoyed getting to know their daughter, Eadlyn. Also if I didn't want a twin before I really wish I had a twin now.

This book (obviously) had a much different perspective being from the perspective of the person holding the selection but I liked the different perspective. I also enjoyed watching her character development throughout the whole thing.

I was really skeptical about continuing the series because I was scared that I wouldn't like it as much but I really like Eadlyn and her story. I want to go into details about some of the boys so let's get into this.

Kile: Oh. My. God. Kyle. So I love him. I ship them endlessly and I think they are meant for each other. It's simple. Also how iconic would it be if America's kid ended up with Marlee's kid. He is definitely a front runner for both Eadlyn and me. He is sweet and much more in tune to what she needs than the others. And they've known each other for their entire lives. If enemies to lovers (which they kind of are in a way) is my favorite trope then childhood friends to lovers may be my second favorite.

Henri: Poor, sweet, Henri. He would be an amazing friend for Eadlyn to have around but definitely not husband material. I am sorry but communication is a giant thing in a relationship and they have no ability to communicate.

Hale: So I like Hale and I like the "I'll prove myself to you everyday" approach that he takes. I think that that is very sweet and cute. I like him.

Ean: Ean is a suspicious dude. He is hiding something. Mark my words.

Erik: I know that he technically isn't one of the selected but he might as well be, and I think that him and Eadlyn have a stronger connection than Henri and Eadlyn. I don't think that he is an actual choice because Eadlyn is too committed to the rules and doesn't want to let anyone down. I also mildly ship them but no where near how I ship Eadlyn and Kile.

If I didn't talk about one of the guys I have no opinion on them or they didn't deserve the time it took me to type out their name.

Publisher's Description:

The Heir by Kiera Cass (The Selection: Book 4)

Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she'd put off marriage for as long as possible.

But a princess's life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can't escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.

Eadlyn doesn't expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn's heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn't as impossible as she's always thought.
