Quotes to Remember:
“Life can be generous some days. But watch out—the price of living is pain. Same price as loving.”
Sorry there aren't more quotes! I forgot to write them down as I was reading and there were only two on the Goodreads site! If I would have thought about it I would have written more down. If I find more quotes later on, I will try to add them!

My Review:
I just want it to be known that I love this world. I remember reading the original Fablehaven series back around middle school and I was so upset that it was over that I started reading Fablehaven fanfiction. And let me tell you, middle school me was not ready for that. When I found out that there was going to be a sequel series I was beyond excited!
I love the new direction of this series. It reminds me of when I first read Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan because I was already so in love with the characters and now I just get to see them on a new adventure meeting new friends and making new enemies.
Can I just talk about Kendra and Bracken for a second? Because they are my OTP in these books. I want to reread the original series just to watch them fall in love again. My one complaint in this book is that he wasn't in it. Just like the fairy godmother, I too only care about Kendra and Bracken. Just kidding. Kinda. I have been rooting for them since he was first introduced in the Fablehaven books and for him to not be seen once in the whole book is upsetting. Although we did get to see Ronodin, the dark unicorn, and he was something else.
I also am loving the dynamic between Seth and Eve. I have a new OTP and they are just so darn cute. And she is so brave. They are actually very similar. They are both stubborn. They are both insanely brave. They are both a *little* reckless at times. They both get into trouble with their disapproving guardians. And how ironic would it be if the shadow charmer ended up with one of the fair folk. They are perfect. Love them. Keep being cute and not realising that you are meant to be.
The ending does throw a wrench in just about everything ever but I'm sure it will pan out. It has to right? Seth can't just lose his memories forever. Right? He'll get them back. Also how did Ronodin know that he would end up losing his memories? Did that event just spur his actions or did he already have that plan in place and relied on the assumption that Seth would be the one that would lose his memory? That is a little foggy to me.
I really liked the storyline in this book and it kept me engaged from start to finish. This could be because I just love a good middle reader. I just think that they are so pure and simple yet so entertaining. One of my least favorite things about young adult books is the over described romance and you just don't have that in middle readers. Which I love.
I also almost forgot to talk about Tess and Knox. They are so far playing fairly minor characters. They don't have giant roles like Kendra and Seth did in Fablehaven or in this book but they are becoming very good at getting into trouble. They are adventurous and curious and Tess is one of the most innocent little girls ever. She is just asking to become Fairy Kind.
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Knox though because he seems a little to full of himself and altogether extremely jealous when it comes to Seth and Kendra. I think they need to actually explain their story to him so that he gets that they started with ogres and nearly died and he jumped right to dragons. He doesn't get that they have a lot of experience with this stuff and still almost die everyday. He has practically zero experience and thinks that he is as good as them. I'm not a fan of that level of over confidence.
Overall this was a really good book and I absolutely loved the book and I love the old characters and I love the new characters and I just love the world.
